The Male’ City Council has made an announcement asking to remove the vehicles at the southwest harbour area in Male’, as part of their efforts to clean the area.
Male’ City Council Member Samau Shareef told Sun Online that the council decided to clean the harbour area during Ramadan, and efforts in this regard have been made on two occasions since then; but the efforts have been unsuccessful due to the vehicles parked at the area.
He said that the council has not yet made a decision on whether parking will be allowed in the area after it is cleaned, and that discussions on how to use this land will be held after the cleaning project.
In an announcement published yesterday, the council asked owners to remove the vehicles parked at the empty space opposite the cafes and shops at the harbour area before Saturday, as efforts are ongoing to clean the area.
The council also said that vehicles that remain the area after Saturday will be impounded, and that it will not be responsible for damage caused to the vehicles during removal or afterwards.
