Quran and science conference to be held in Maldives

The Islamic Foundation of the Maldives has announced plans to hold a conference on Quran and science for the first time in the Maldives.

The conference will be held on 24 and 25 October at the National Art Gallery.

Spokesperson for the Islamic Foundation of the Maldives Ahmed Firas said that during the conference, discussions will be held on subjects such as miracles of the Quran, science and evolution theory, Quran leads the way to science, Quran denies Darwinism, facts of creation, miracles in human creation, and creation of the universe.

Speakers at the conference include two Turkish scholars - neurosurgeon Dr Ahmet Oktar Babuna, and economics and social politics expert Ali Sadun Engin.

The Islamic Foundation said that the conference can accommodate up to 100 participants, and has urged people wishing to participate to contact the foundation for registration.
