STO opens pharmacy in Dhiggaru

The State Trading Organisation (STO) has opened a pharmacy in Meemu Dhiggaru, under the project to open pharmacies in every inhabited island across the country .

STO said that the services provided by this pharmacy would be covered by the Aasandha health insurance scheme.

The number of STO pharmacies reached 35 with the one opened in Dhiggaru.

STO said that the project to open pharmacies in every inhabited island would be completed within two years. They also said that island councils are very supportive to them in implementing this program.

STO Managing Director Adam Azim said that this program is aimed to provide easy access of health facilities to people, and the government’s goal is to make health services covered by Aasandha accessible to all Maldivians.
