President Yameen extends greetings to teachers

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended greetings to all the teachers of the Maldives on the occasion of International Teachers’ day.

In a message sent by president Yameen, currently at Saudi Arabia, to perform Hajj, stated that he sends hearty warm greetings to all the hardworking teachers and all the people working in the education system of Maldives on the occasion of teachers’ day.

Minister of Education Dr Aishath Shiham, in her address on the occasion of Teachers’ Day said that in order to make teachers skilful, efforts are ongoing to provide additional training programs for teachers and principals at the end of the year.

Minister highlighted government’s role in making the teachers understand the effort they have to put in to develop the students and facilitating the teachers to meet government’s expectations regarding the quality of the students, as classrooms are the most important places where educational policies are implemented.
