The High Commission of India to the Maldives has donated MVR 125,000 to Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).
The ceremony to hand over the money, to be used to train teachers for children with disabilities, was held today at the Indian High Commission. The donation was presented by Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Rajeev Shahare, and accepted on behalf by ARC by Haula Ahmed Didi.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Indian High Commissioner said that the donation would benefit the education of children with disabilities, as it would facilitate training opportunities in India for local teachers.
Haula said that teachers from Male’, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, and Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah will participate in the training program. She thanked the Indian High Commission for the generous donation.
