Expat cleared of murder in Hulhumale

Mohamed Yaseen, charged with murder by the State in relation to the death of Amir Hossein following an assault between a group of expats in Hulhumale’ on the night of 31 May 2009, has been acquitted by the Criminal Court.

Both Yaseen and Hossein are Bangladeshi citizens.

The court said that Hossein died as a result of the injuries sustained in the assault, but sufficient evidence was not presented in court to prove that the injuries were inflicted by Yaseen.
