Man sentenced to two years in prison over counterfeit US Dollar notes

The Criminal Court has sentenced Moosa Naseem of M. Love Nest, Male’, to two years in prison for paying with counterfeit US Dollar notes.

Moosa Naseem was found guilty of paying a bill of $100 with counterfeit notes at a shop at 10:07 p.m. on 24 July 2011.

The court said that despite Moosa Naseem’s denial of the charge, the evidence presented against him by the state was sufficient to convict him of this crime.

The court noted that this is the second such conviction for Moosa Naseem.
