Man given two years in prison for motorcycle theft

The Criminal Court has sentenced Hussain Hassan, 33, of Maabulhaage, Seenu Hithadhoo, to two years in prison for stealing a motorcycle.

The court found him guilty of having stolen a motorcycle on 20 February 2012.

He was stopped by police while driving a motorcycle, and when asked, he said that the vehicle belonged to the brother of a friend named Shifaz; but testimonies given in court by witnesses proved that the motorcycle was stolen.

The court also noted that this is the second theft conviction against Hussain Hassan.
