Stab victim who required leg amputation, dies

Ahmed Aseel, who was assaulted in an alley in front of Iskandar School in Male’ on Saturday night, has died while being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Aseel was left in serious condition and required a leg amputation, after receiving multiple stab wounds to various parts of his body in the assault.

He received treatment in the ICU at IGMH for seven days. Doctors told his family yesterday that his chance of survival was low.

Following police checks, his body was taken to the cemetery this evening.
