Fire breaks out at shop in Male

Lily F&B on Kalhuhuraa Magu in Male’ has been set on fire by an electrical short circuit early this morning.

The fire started at 5:08 a.m., but was controlled and extinguished soon after by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service.

MNDF said that the fire spread from tissue boxes close to the location of the short circuit.

No one was hurt in the incident, but the fire caused minor damage to several items in the shop.

The incident is under investigation by MNDF in collaboration with the police.
