The government has annulled its agreement with Villa Air, a subsidiary of Villa Group, to develop and manage Kaadedhdhoo Airport. The agreement was signed for a period of 50 years.
Sun Online is aware that the agreement was annulled by the government after citing a breach of contract. The decision was communicated with Villa Air today.
Rilwan Shareef, Managing Director of Villa Air told Sun Online that the agreement was annulled after accusing the company of breaching two articles related to auditing and security of Kaadedhdhoo Airport.
“We believe the Ministry made the decision based on incorrect information,” said Rilwan Shareef. He said the company plans to negotiate with the ministry to resolve the issue.
