Sareera appointed PIC President

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed three members to the Police Integrity Commission (PIC), and named one of the new members, Fathimath Sareera Ali, as the commission’s president.

Fathimath Sareera Ali, Mohamed Farhaad and Ali Nadheem, were appointed to the Police Integrity Commission at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office today. The terms of three former members at PIC expired in July.

Sareera and Nadheem passed the parliament vote on Tuesday with 73 in favour, while Farhaad was approved with 56 votes in favour. The new PIC President Fathimath Sareera had scored 91.2 percent in the parliament committee review.
