47 apply for ACC membership

A total of 47 candidates have applied for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) membership ahead of the expiry of the current five-member commission on 9 September.

The exiting members of the commission, President Hassan Luthfee and Vice President Muavviz Rasheed, Mohamed Shafeeu, Abdulla Hilmy and Khadheeja Rasheed have also applied for a new term.

Deadline for applications expired at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. President’s Office said that the pool of 47 contains 12 female applicants.
