Four arrested with weapons used for assault

Police have arrested four individuals with weapons used for assault, from an apartment building located in an alley near the Maaveyo Magu, Majeedhee Magu intersection in Male'.

Police said that the four individuals, all of whom had existing criminal records, were arrested on Sunday night through a special operation based on intelligence received by the police. They discovered drugs hidden in the apartment, along with machetes and masks used to conceal a person's identity.

The apartment was used to store weapons and served as safe house, police said. The individuals taken into custody are believed to have been involved in a series of stabbings that took place in the capital last week.
