India-Maldives Friendship Festival underway

This year's India-Maldives Friendship Festival, organized by the India Club Maldives (ICM), in association with High Commission of India in Maldives and Friendship Association of India-Maldives (FAIM), is currently underway.

Indian High Commission in Male' said in a statement that the festival began with the opening match of ICM SAARC Cricket tournament, played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Ekuveni Cricket Grounds on 25 July.

The organizers have also planned an India-Maldives Friendship Walk around Male’, starting from Artificial Beach on 8 August at 4:00 p.m, along with a Cultural evening and Magic show at the Olympus Theatre on 12 August at 8:00 p.m. Friendship Association of India-Maldives (FAIM) also plans to hold a seminar titled “LETS TALK” on 16 August, as part of the friendship festival.

“It is hoped that the Festival would help further strengthen people to people interaction between both the friendly countries,” said the High Commission of India, Male’.

India-Maldives Friendship Festival is celebrated during a period covering both Independence Day of Maldives, 26 July and Independence Day of India, 15 August.
