Nearly 3000 people call on President to exchange Eid greetings

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim received nearly 3000 people who called on them to exchanged greetings on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Fitr, said the President’s Office.

The reception took place from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sultan Park this morning.

Those who visited Sultan Park to exchange greetings with the President included Ministers, Members of the Parliament, members from political parties, State Ministers, State Dignitaries, foreign diplomats and senior government officials.

At the Eid greeting event today, President Yameen condemned the recent Israeli aggression on Palestine and appealed to the public to remember their Muslim brothers and sister who face suffering and grief in this day of Islamic unity.

A large number of members of the general public, including children, also called on the President and the First Lady this morning.
