Speedboat at Dharavandhoo harbour destroyed by fire

A speedboat docked at the harbour of Baa Dharavandhoo has been completely destroyed by a fire early this morning.

President of Dharavandhoo Council Hussain Nazim told Sun Online that the speedboat belongs to a diving school.

No one was hurt in the incident, and the fire was extinguished by Dharavandhoo Airport Fire and Rescue Team, said Nazim.

He added that the fire however reignited at around 6:45 p.m., possibly due to a short circuit.

Police said that efforts are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
