President ratifies bill to repeal MPs salary act

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Wednesday ratified the bill to repeal the People’s Majlis and Special Majlis Parliamentarians’ Salary Act.

Parliament unanimously voted to repeal the law governing the allocation of salaries and allowances to Members of the Parliament and Members of the Special Majlis with 70 votes in favor at the thirteenth sitting of the second session held on 15 July.
