Zahira appointed as Deputy Governor of MMA

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Aishath Zahira as the Deputy Governor of the central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), for a second term.

Her first term ended on 1 July 2014.

President Yameen nominated Zahira to this post and sent her name to the parliament for approval on 15 June.

The parliament approved her as Deputy Governor of MMA with 80 votes in favour and no votes against, on 21 July.
