Man found dead suffered from mental disorder: Police

Police have said that the man found dead in the sea near Thin Ruh Park on the south-western side of Male’ around noon today, suffered from a mental disorder.

The deceased has been identified as Azmee Latheef, 36, of Maadhandige, Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah.

Police declined to provide further details, as requested by his family.

The body, which showed signs of decomposition, was retrieved from the water by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and police officers, and transported immediately to Aasahara, the cemetery in Male’.
