Met Office warns of bad weather for next 24 hours

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has warned that bad weather will be experienced across the country over the next 24 hours.

Heavy rains and strong north-westerly winds are expected all over the country, the Service said.

The Service further said that winds of between 10 and 18 mph will be experienced in the south, and winds of between 15 and 25 mph will be experienced in other regions; while gusts can be expected during rainstorms.

The police have also warned travellers of strong winds and rough seas, and advised them to check the weather forecast before heading out, and to keep safety equipment close at hand during bad weather.
