State banquet held in honour of Sri Lankan President and First Lady

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have hosted a State banquet in honour of the visiting President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.

The banquet was held on Wednesday evening at Kurumba Maldives. The national anthems of Maldives and Sri Lanka were played at the banquet, revealed the President’s Office.

The banquet was attended by Vice President, Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and Madam Khawlath Faheem. Chief Justice, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Parliament, and foreign diplomats were also in attendance at the function, along with the members of the Sri Lankan delegation.

President and First Lady of Sri Lanka arrived in the Maldives on a State visit on Wednesday afternoon.
