MTCC increases daily Male

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced changes to the schedule for ferries between Male’ and Hulhumale’, for the month of Ramadan.

Speaking at a press conference today, CEO of MTCC Ibrahim Abdul Razzag said that a special project has been launched to improve ferry services during Ramadan.

He said that ferries will depart every five minutes between 8:20 a.m. and 9:40 a.m., and every ten minutes at other times during Ramadan.

With this increase in frequency, the number of daily ferries between Male’ and Hulhumale’ will increase from 86 to 94.

Razzag said that in addition to this, three cargo ferries will be conducted daily except for Fridays, a special ticket counter will be established for transporting motorcycles, and damaged seats will be replaced on existing ferries, as part of the efforts to improve services during Ramadan.

He further said that fibreglass ferries of better quality will be added to MTCC’s fleet in the near future.
