Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer has said that he will appear in court of his own accord, for the hearing scheduled for 11:00 a.m. tomorrow at Criminal Court.
This comes after he missed two hearings, and Criminal Court issued an order upon Maldives Police Service to arrest and produce him to court for tomorrow's hearing.
Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed said earlier today that the police will implement the order to arrest and produce the Home Minster to court.
Umar Naseer had meanwhile informed the court that he would not be able to attend hearings before 16 June, as he would be abroad until that date.
Umar Naseer is charged by the State with disobeying orders, after he called for volunteers to follow his instructions and use fifty ladders to storm the walls of the country’s military headquarters during a protest in Male', prior to the controversial change of power on 7 February 2012.
