Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon has departed for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday to attend the annual Foreign Ministers’ meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Minister Dunya is accompanied by Ambassador-at-large Abdullah Hameed and Assistant Director at the Foreign Ministry Mariyam Midhfa Naeem, according to a press release by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
At 41st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, Foreign Ministers of the fifty-seven-member organization is expected to discuss ways in addressing some of the major challenges facing the Islamic Ummah.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation was established in September 1969. Maldives joined the organisation in 1976.
