Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa wins award for environmental efforts

Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has won the International Hotel of the Year 2014 award, at the Considerate Hoteliers Awards 2014.

The Considerate “Oscars”, which has been in existence since 1992, is an award given to the best environmental, sustainable, and socially responsible performances within the UK and international hotel industry.

This year’s award ceremony was held in London last Friday.

General Manager of Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa Julian Moore thanked the organisers for recognising the resort’s efforts towards protecting the ecosystem.

Describing the environmental efforts of Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Considerate Hoteliers said that the hotel has developed its very own hydroponic garden system which allows it to grow its own lettuce, herbs, and vegetables; and also created a nature dining menu where guests are surrounded by the lush vegetation for a meal highlighting the island’s produce.
