Twelve bills have been submitted to the parliament by Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) on behalf of the government.
PPM Parliamentary Group Leader Ahmed Nihan Hassan Manik told Sun Online that this includes new bills, amendment bills, and bills requesting annulment of several existing laws.
The Economic Zone Bill, aimed at attracting foreign investment, was submitted last week, and the Referendum Bill was submitted today.
Some other bills submitted by the government include an Amendment Bill on the Act on Protection of Children’s Rights by Gemanafushi MP Jameel Usman, an Amendment Bill on the Immigration Act by Ibrahim Riza, an Amendment Bill on the Decentralisation Act by Vilufushi MP Riyaz Rasheed, an Amendment Bill on Goods and Services (GST) Act by Gadhdhoo MP Ibrahim Rasheed, and a bill proposing the annulment of the Act on MPs’ Salaries by Dhaandhoo MP Ahmed Assad.
