Chairman of MTCC dismissed

Iqbal Adam has been dismissed as the Chairman of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Spokesperson at the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz told Sun Online today that President Yameen has proposed Abdulla Arif of Ma. Everglory to the Privatization and Corporatization Board, to replace Iqbal Adam as the Chairman of MTCC.

Iqbal was appointed Chairman of MTCC on a Jumhoory Party (JP) slot on 5 January. The coalition agreement between ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and JP was dissolved after JP leader Gasim Ibrahim stood for parliament speakership against PPM’s wishes on 28 May.
