Toddler dies in Maakurathu after falling into fish pond

A one-year-old has died after falling into a fish pond in the island of Maakurathu in Raa Atoll.

Spokesperson at Raa Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital, where the child’s remains are at the moment, said that there were no visible signs of any injuries on the child’s body, and he was dead when he arrived at the hospital.

The spokesperson said that the exact cause of death is yet unknown, but the hospital had been informed that he died after falling into a fish pond.

Sources have told Sun Online that the toddler fell into a fish pond at a house in Maakurathu, but the reason for his fall is unknown.
