Four-hour ban on vehicles on Environment Day

Ministry of Environment and Energy has announced that vehicles will be banned between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on 6 June, to mark the World Environment Day.

The ministry said that this ban excludes the operation of security service vehicles, ambulances, public transport buses, and vehicles used by persons with disabilities.

All other vehicles must obtain a permit from Male’ City Council to operate during the aforementioned hours on 6 June.

The ministry has also decided to hold a photo exhibition, and a program to plant trees across the country to mark World Environment Day.
