Court expels case against MMC

Civil Court has today expelled a against the Maldives Media Council (MMC), by MMC member Abdulla Muaz Yoosuf, over losing the MMC president post.

Abdulla Muaz lost the president post after the council decided that the meeting in which Muaz was elected was held against procedure.

Maldives Media Council vice president Ali Rasheed said the case was expelled after Muaz failed to attend the hearing scheduled for 11:45 a.m. today.

“Court annulled the case today when the plaintiff failed to attend the hearing on time. We are waiting for a verdict,” Ali Rasheed said.

Muaz told Sun Online today that he could not find a transport to attend court today and that he will re-submit the case to court tomorrow.
