Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited (MHCL) has extended the deadline for making the payment to go for Umra during Ramadan this year.
Managing Director of MHCL Yameen Idhrees told Sun Online that 38 people registered between 20 March and 10 April for going for Umra with MHCL this year, however, only 27 people made the payment before the deadline last Thursday.
Yameen said that MHCL had decided to arrange Umra for 44 people this year, thus, it has decided to extend the deadline until Thursday, 15 May.
MHCL will arrange Umra for a total of 50 people, including six assistants.
Yameen said that people who have not registered are also welcome to register and make the payment.
MHCL charges MVR 34,850 per person for Umra this year. The pilgrims will depart on 14 July and return on 28 July.
