Netherlands based Boskalis International has started reclamation of 33 hectares of land in Thulusdhoo island, the capital of Kaafu Atoll.
An official from the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure said the Ministry will hold an official event to kick-off the reclamation project on Sunday. Bokalis has agreed to complete the project within 21 days.
Thulusdhoo is being expanded under a MVR 570 million project, under which Boskalis has been commission to reclaim lands by dredging in Baa Eydhafushi, Dhaalu Meedhoo, Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo, in addition to Thulusdhoo. On 21 April, the company finished reclamation of 25.9 hectares in Eydhafushi, the first of the four island.
