Dr Faathin Hameed’s funeral prayer will be held after Asr prayer today at Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam, Islamic Centre, the family has announced.
Visitation of well-wishers began after Zuhr (afternoon) prayer at Aasahara cemetery.

Faathin attended a PhD in Fisheries Management at the University of Waikato, New Zealand and has made numerous contributions to the Maldives fisheries sector during the past decade.
Faathin Hameed is survived by her husband and two daughters, ages three and six.
