State presents evidence in Ayyube murder trial

State has presented evidence in court today against Fauzan Mohamed, accused of the murder of Ali Hassan (Ayyube), a 76-year-old man who brutally murdered in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo in January 2012.

State presented four witnesses, DNA and post-mortem reports as evidence to the court after Fauzan pleaded not guilty and waived his right to a lawyer at the hearing today.

The indictment states that Fauzan and a group of others had planned the murder of Ali Hussain, attacked Ali Hussain around 7:00 p.m. on 8 January 2012 while he was walking down Dhandimiskie Magu in Kudahuvadhoo, dragged Ali Hussain into an abandoned house on the same road and killed him.

Juvenile Court has acquitted one minor and sentenced two others to death for the murder of Ali Hassan.
