Two arrested for smuggling drugs concealed internally to Rathafandhoo

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of smuggling drugs concealed internally to Gaafu Dhaalu Rathafandhoo.

Police said that the men aged 25 and 21 were arrested during an operation by Thinadhoo Police Station on 29 April.

Police said that the 25-year-old removed the drugs that had been concealed inside his body, while he was still at Thinadhoo Police Station prior to being taken to the hospital.

The items removed by him included 10 bullet sized packets containing substances believed to be drugs.

X-rays at the hospital however did not show any more drugs concealed inside their bodies, said the police.
