A man has been arrested while trying to sell goods stolen from the 4th floor of Galolhu Dhoorium, Male’.
Dhoorium is the residence of former Gender Minister Dr Amal Ali. The former Minister's own apartment was robbed by a single masked man on 12 April. The 4th floor is leased to tenants.
A man from Dhoorium, 4th floor told Sun Online that two robbers broke into the apartment around 10:15 a.m. today and stole a smartphone, a laptop computer and an external hard drive.
Residents of Dhoorium identified a man while trying to sell the stolen laptop near Majeedhee Magu, Chaandhanee Magu intersection later today. The man was apprehended and beaten by the public, before being handed over to the police.
The robber’s accomplice is still at large. Police said the robbery was reported around 11:30 a.m. today. They are looking for the accomplice, police said, but did not provide details.
