Night market to begin tonight with 540 tables

Night market, the annual street market held prior to Ramadan each year, is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Ahmed Amir, General Manager of the event's organizer Go Media said today that the market will begin with 540 tables, each leased for MVR 4000. The three tents placed in the area costs an additional MVR 6500 each, Amir said.

Local businesses are preparing to set up stalls for the 10-day event. Products such as home appliances, toys, pets, clothes, shoes and food stalls are usually seen at the annual market.

The stalls, stretching on Boduthakurufaanu Magu near Raalhugandu on the Eastern side of the capital Male’, will operate from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. The market will continue from 1 May until 10 May.
