Parliament rejects Maumoon Hameed for PG post

Parliament has today rejected President’s nominee Maumoon Hameed to the Prosecutor General position.

Nephew to President Abdulla Yameen and former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Maumoon Hameed scored 65 points in the committee review. The review requires a minimum of 75 points to receive a recommendation.

Parliament rejected the nomination by passing the committee report which opposed the appointment of Maumoon Hameed to the Prosecutor General position.
