Parliament approves Zahiya as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka

Parliament has today approved Zahiya Zareer as the new High Commissioner of the Maldives accredited to Sri Lanka.

President Abdulla Yameen forwarded the nomination for parliament approval 13 February. Parliament's National Security Committee unanimously approved the nomination on 9 April.

Zahiya Zareer has held the posts of Minister of Education and Minister of Gender, and prior to that, senior posts at the Education Development Centre.
