Flyme, operated by Villa Air, has announced that its first seaplane will arrive in the Maldives this month.
Flyme said that the Cessna C208 aircraft, scheduled to arrive on 20 April, will have a capacity of seven passengers, one cabin crew, and two pilots.
“The seaplane will initially focus on tourist services, but Maldivians will also have the opportunity of photo flights,” said an official of Flyme, which presently operates flights to nine local airports.
The official said that Flyme has plans to acquire more seaplanes in the future.
Flyme started operations two years ago, and its present fleet consists of two aircraft of 46 people capacity, and two aircraft of 66 people capacity.
