The Pension Fund has purchased 500,000 shares of Dhiraagu.
Pension Office said in a statement today that the 500,000 shares were bought in the secondary market for MVR 40 million, at the rate of MVR 80 per share.
A Pension Office official said that this was the first secondary market transaction by the office, and similar transactions will be carried out in the future.
“The fundament of Pension Fund investment is to invest while taking into account risk and liquidity,” he said.
With this purchase, the total number of Dhiraagu shares held by Pension Fund is now 1,750,000.
Pension Fund has also invested in Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) bonds and government T-bills.
