MDP will win majority: Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) will win majority in the ongoing Parliamentary Election.

Nasheed made this remark while speaking to media after casting his vote earlier today.

“This is a major test. The decision Maldivians make today will determine the country’s fate. I think MDP will win majority in today’s election,” he said.

Nasheed refused to speculate on the number of seats MDP would win, when asked by a reporter.

He further said that he was happy with the organisation of the election, which is in line with international standards.
