MP Siyam announces several projects aimed at young people in Meedhoo

Leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, who will defend his Meedhoo seat at the upcoming Parliamentary Election, has pledged to undertake several projects for the betterment of the youth of the island of Dhaalu Meedhoo.

Speaking at the inauguration of a land reclamation project in Meedhoo, Siyam said that a football field, a court for women’s local sport ‘bashi’, and a tennis court would be developed at the 17.5-hectare land reclaimed under the project initiated today.

“We will build two gyms, one for men, one for women,” he said.

He also pledged to hold an annual inter-atoll sports competition from this year onwards, funded by him.

Siyam said that the people of Meedhoo face several social problems due to the lack of land, and the reclamation of the 17.5-hectare land will facilitate development for the youth of the island.
