Fuad summoned by police

Former President of Elections Commission Fuad Thaufeeg has been summoned by the police.

A police media official said that Fuad has been asked to be present at Shaheed Hussain Adam Building at 9:30 p.m., regarding a case under investigation by the police.

He did not specify which case Fuad was being summoned in relation to.

This comes after a phone call was leaked on social media recently, between Fuad and former President Mohamed Nasheed.

A case was filed to police regarding the phone call, by Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Parliamentary Election candidate for Maafannu-South Abdulla Rifau.

In the leaked audio clip, Fuad and Nasheed were heard discussing distributing people who had been registered on the Dhaftharu (Register). The clip reveals that Fuad and Nasheed had agreed to distribute the people who had been added to Henveyru, over four constituencies in Maafannu.
