Elections Commission has announced that voters’ lists will be signed on Friday and Saturday, for the Parliamentary Election scheduled for 22 March.

The commission said that candidates, their representatives, or party representatives will sign the lists at Dhoshimeynaa Hall in Dharubaaruge.

The lists will be signed from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Elections Commission said that candidate representatives should take with them their identity cards, and a letter indicating the candidate’s identity card number which is also endorsed by the candidate; while party representative should take with them their identity cards and a letter from the party to confirm that they have been appointed by the party to sign the lists.

A total of 302 candidates will contest for 85 constituencies in the 18th Parliamentary Election, for which the number of eligible voters is 240,652.
