Three arrested with drugs, gang weapons confiscated

Police arrested three individuals with drugs and confiscated a number of gang related weapons today, as part of a special operation to combat and reduce gang violence in the capital Male’.

An inspection of Henveyru Adi Park around 11:15 a.m. today produced a number of weapons including sharpened iron shafts and wooden sticks that can be used for assault, revealed the police.

According to the Police Media Official, three individuals were arrested with drugs from a house named H. Hundred Flower during an inspection of three houses in Henveyru this morning. Police Special Operations officers retrieved the drugs that the suspects had thrown out of the house upon the police raid, the Media Official said.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Specialist Operation Department and Serious and Organized Crime Department, said the police.
