Saudi crown prince to arrive in Maldives on Friday

Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will arrive in the Maldives on Friday on an official visit.

A ceremony will be held at Republic Square to welcome the crown prince.

Arab News has reported that discussions will be held during this visit regarding the $300 million soft loan facility requested by Maldives, as well as Saudi investments and partnerships in Maldives in energy, tourism, transport, and Islamic affairs.

Discussions about credit facilities aimed at settling Maldives’ budgetary requirements began last year during former President Dr Mohamed Waheed’s visit to Riyadh.

The crown prince will visit Japan and Pakistan before flying to Maldives. He has granted $10,000 to each Saudi scholarship student currently studying in Japan.
