Elections Commission has opened re-registration, for people wishing to vote from locations other than their permanent residences, for the Parliamentary Election scheduled for 22 March.
The commission said in an announcement that re-registration will be open until 28 February, and stressed that even persons who had re-registered for previous elections must re-register afresh for the Parliamentary Election.
The re-registration forms can be obtained from the Elections Commission Office, the Re-registration Centre, and Island Council Offices.
Similar to the procedure followed in previous elections, the maximum number of forms that can be submitted by one person is 10, and political parties, resorts, and other institutions can only submit 50 stamped forms at a time, said Elections Commission.
Forms will be accepted in Male’ on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 10: p.m. and in Island Councils between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; and on Fridays between 2:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in Male’ and islands.
