JSC to decide if Judge Shujoon violated code of ethics

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has commenced an investigation to determine if Judge Aisha Shujoon Mohamed has violated the Judges Code of Ethics.

This investigation follows a claim by Judge Shujoon on TV last Friday, that she was offered a bribe of $5 million in relation to a case in Civil Court.

JSC Media Coordinator Hassan Zaheen told Sun Online today that an investigation was launched by JSC’s Legal Section after the issue was taken up by media, and that the commission would decide whether Judge Shujoon violated the code of ethics based on this report.

The bribery claim by Judge Shujoon is also under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
